최근 2년간 독일 베를린에서 다양한 배경의 ‘이동자들’과 만나 진행한 교류 프로젝트의 아카이빙 자료와 그와 관련하여 파생된 이미지를 토대로 한 10여 점의 작품을 온라인 전시 형식을 통해 공개한다. 떠나온 이들의 낯선 풍경 위에 그리는 노스텔지어, 죽음의 경계에서 변형된 꿈을 붙잡고 새로운 삶의 지도를 그려 나아가는 모습을 영상, 텍스트, 사운드 아카이빙 리믹스 형식으로 선보인다.
영상 작품에서는 ‘정주’와 ‘이주’라는 키워드로 베를린의 여러 난민 및 난민화된 사람들의 비선형적, 파편적 이야기가 흘러나온다. ‘장소를 점유하지 않고’, 장벽을 최소화한 ‘비물리적 공간’에서 작업에 접근할 수 있는 형태의 온라인 전시도 작업의 주요 개념 중 하나이다. 온라인 전시 홈페이지에서는 매주 금요일마다 새로운 작업이 업데이트되며, 이는 한 번에 공개되고 순식간에 사라지는 기존 오프라인 중심의 전시가 아닌, 지속 가능하며 끊임없이 변화하는 형태의 전시로 제시된다.

Da eun Lee will present ten works via an online platform that are based on the archival materials and images deriving from the two-year exchange with various “migrants” in Berlin. The sense of nostalgia, the dreams that had undergone transformation on the verge of death, and the cartography of the new life are integrated into the video, textual, auditory, and archival remix.
The moving images, which center on the notion of migration and settlement, present a non-linear, fragmented narrative of the refugees and those who were made refugees in Berlin. Another set of concerns that is pivotal to the exhibition is the non-physicality of the platform that occupies no physical space and remains as accessible as possible. Unlike physical exhibitions that are ephemeral, the exhibition will be presented in a sustainable, ever-changing format. The website will be updated every Friday with new work.
